A British Themed Wedding

With the Queen having recently celebrated her 90th Birthday, we have been totally inspired to create a traditionally British themed wedding. When you think of Britain, you may also think of the monarchy, afternoon tea, fish and chips and everything else that makes us as a nation so patriotic about our country. What’s not to love, right? So, why not check out these amazing ideas on injecting a little patriotism into your big day!

We’ll start with the colour scheme … Make sure you decorate everything in red, white and blue and you won’t go far wrong with your British themed wedding. Have the British flag proudly displayed around the room to keep within the theme.

The Transport – Why not arrive in true British style with this red double decker bus. Some companies such as The Big Red Bus Bar even have mobile bars that accompany them so why not combine the two.

The centrepieces – Why not fill old teapots with flowers. We personally think these look amazing!

For a London based wedding venue, why not recreate the signs for the London Underground and use these as centrepieces. We absolutely love this idea!

The Drinks – What British themed wedding would be complete without a cup of tea! Why not have a tea and coffee station accompanied by traditional cups and saucers. Your guests will love this!

Afternoon Tea – In true British style, what cup of tea would be complete without a scone?! Set up a scone station too and your guests will be talking about your British themed wedding for years to come!

The Dress – No matter what your style, you can’t deny how amazing Kate Middleton looked on her wedding day! The full length gown complete with a lace overlay, tiara and veil is just beautiful and although Kate’s dress cost in the region of £40,000!! You can recreate this look at a fraction of the cost. Check out our range of gorgeous wedding dresses here.

The Food – There are so many options when it comes to providing your guests with food. Why not opt for something unique like a fsh and chip van. After all, we do love our fish and chips.

The Wedding Cake – A traditional tiered wedding cake would work perfectly with this theme, however, here at Fund Your Wedding, we just loved this quirky cake and thought it was a perfect way to incorporate the theme into your food.

The Cards – There are so many different ways to create a space for guests to leave your cards but why not have a traditional post box. This is such a novel idea that your guests will love!

Wedding Entertainment – Why not get back to basics with some traditional lawn games that your guests will love. This is such a good photo opportunity, your photographer can really capture the fun that you’ve injected into your big day.

And for the children, why not keep them entertained by allowing them to decorate their own crowns. This is a sure fire way to keep them quiet during the wedding speeches.

So there you have it, why not give your wedding a patriotic makeover with an amazing British Themed Wedding.
