Llanerch Vineyard Wedding

Massive congratulations to Rachel and Craig who tied the knot at St Davids Church in Miskin.

Phillip Warren from Phillip Warren Photography was the wedding photographer of choice and he photographed his first ever full wedding at this church seven years ago, so it holds a little place in his heart.

Here a few teasers from the ceremony and reception at Llanerch Vineyard.

It all started less than a mile away from Rachel’s house at the hairdressers, Vous By Lindsey. With less than four of them arriving early, it was a nice and calm and quiet. Which isn’t like most weddings! Rachel and her five bridesmaids got ready in her spacious house before making their way to the church in two wedding cars. They arrived shortly after 12:30 (it’s okay to be fashionably late for your wedding right?) Phillip Warren says it was lovely to return to the church where he shot my first wedding back in 2011. It was a different vicar this time, but he was still lovely like I remember the first being.

Beaming smiles all around during the ceremony and some lovely readings by the vicar and one of the guests. One funny story by the vicar started by mentioning a photographer, which got Phillip a little worried and he wondered where he was going with it. He shouldn’t have been worried, it turned out to be a lovely story indeed.  After the ceremony, they gathered outside the gate to throw some confetti

Whilst Phillip Warren’s goal is to give couples something to cherish forever, he is conscious of them enjoying their day. It’s one of the reasons why he never takes a huge amount of time for the portrait photos. They always have a little bit of fun during them so he can capture those moments. More often than not he’s 20-30 meters away from the bride and groom taking photos. I can’t hear any of the sweet nothings (or guests talking about how hungry they are!) which helps couples to relax in front of the camera. They took one of the wedding cars to a nearby lake for the photos before heading back to the reception for drinks, canapés and group photos. Soon enough they got whisked away again to view the marquee before the guests got called in for the wedding breakfast.

There was hardly a dry eye in the marquee during the speeches! There were some emotional speeches about past family members and guests were reminiscing about memories growing up. They went straight into cutting the cake after the speeches then the band set up ready for the wedding party. Having run out of time for the required list of group photos earlier in the day, they spent some time outside the marquee completing them. After some cigars and the first dance, the band kept the dancefloor packed all night! The night ended with Phillip Warren giving his customary “wedding present” to the bride and groom, shots at the bar!
