A summer wedding would be classed as peak season as it’s a very popular time of year to get married. However, with most people throwing themselves into the whole planning process, they forget to incorporate subtle ways to keep their guests cool. After all, you want your guests to feel comfortable on your big day, don’t you?
#1 Make sure your venue has air con
Most venues will have this as standard but it’s important to remember that some won’t and the last thing you want is for everyone to be overheating at your summer wedding. With guests being in close proximity, this is something you want to avoid at all costs.
#2 Stay hydrated
This may sound obvious but it’s surprising how many people forget to drink plenty of water. It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of the wedding but so many brides get to midday without having eat or drunk anything. That can easily lead to headaches, migraines and dizziness, none of which you’ll want to experience on your big day. Some brides won’t want to drink too much with the idea of manoeuvring the bathroom in their dress. However, it’s easier to manoeuvre the bathroom than fight off the onset of a headache. This will keep you energized as well as help you to keep cool which is essential for a summer wedding.
#3 Wear your hair up
Keeping your hair off your face and neck is so simple yet such an effective way to keep cool.
#4 Have a water spray bottle on hand
If you’re planning on getting married at the height of summer, this nifty little trick won’t go unrewarded. It will give instant relief to inescapable heat … Thank us later ladies!
#5 Keep your perfume in the fridge
If a water spray bottle just isn’t for you, why not keep your perfume in the fridge and when you spray it, it’ll give you instant relief and keep you that extra little bit cooler.
#6 Use Quality Make up
When it comes to your wedding make up, it’s important to invest a little bit more to make sure it stays in place. Spend a little more on primers and setting sprays to keep your look in place all day but do your research as you won’t want to look shiny in your wedding photos so opt for primers that have a matte finish.
#7 Wear SPF
If you’re planning to spend much of your time outdoors, even if it’s just for the wedding photos, make sure you apply an SPF sunscreen so that you don’t burn or get heatstroke.
#8 Use an umbrella or parasol
Invest in a fabulous looking parasol, not only do these make for fun, vintage photos but they also shelter you from the blazing sun keeping you cool and in control.
#9 Use a hand held fan
These are a great way to keep cool so make sure you have one in your clutch bag. Not only is this a great way to cool you down but it’s something your guests would really appreciate too so why not double up your order of services for hand held fans. Your guests will be thanking you later.
#10 Invest in additional products
Whether it be a good deodorant or anti chafing products, it will all come in handy to keep you looking cool and refreshed so make sure you invest a little more so you are absolutely comfortable when it comes to walking down the aisle and tying the knot!
