Your veil is an essential wedding accessory. There are so many unique wedding veils to choose from and as always, we’re here to help you choose the right one!
Here at Fund Your Wedding, we recommend chosing your wedding dress first. The veil is an accessory that should be in keeping with the theme. For example, if you choose a vintage dress, a vintage veil will only compliment the dress. You want the veil to add another dimension to the outfit and not detract from it. Another top tip would be to choose the length of the veil based on your dress also. So if you choose a short dress, a shorter veil would definitely look much nicer than a floor length veil. We’ve compiled a list of different styles, lengths and themes to give you an idea of what will work best for you.
1. A Birdcage Veil
A birdcage veil is the ultimate bridal accessory, it frames the face perfectly and really has a 50’s vintage feel to it. As such, it would go perfectly with a short vintage style dress or with a vintage themed wedding.
2. An Alternative Birdcage Veil
If you love the look of the birdcage but it isn’t quite your style or it wouldn’t necessarily go with your choice of dress then why not try a veil that covers only the top part of your face like a birdcage but is made out of tulle? This type of veil frames the face perfectly and because it’s made out of the same material as a traditional veil, it would work best with a traditional or classic style dress.
3. A Bohemian Style Veil
A bohemian style veil made out of lace and pearl beads is such a unique alternative. This would look amazing matched with a bohemian style wedding dress or a simple flowing chiffon wedding dress.
4. A Floral Veil
A floral veil is a veil that’s embellished with vibrant, colourful flowers which is an amazing way to add a pop of colour to your big day! This type of veil works best with a colourful themed wedding.
5. A Floor Length Veil
Elongate your frame with this floor length gown. Perfect matched with a floor length traditional, classic or vintage styled wedding dress.
6. A Handmade Veil
We love an authentically homemade veil. Why not incorporate leaves and flowrs to give it a natural feel or if you can’t decide between a flower crown or a veil, create something that’s a perfect mixture of the two. This sort of veil would work best with an outdoor wedding.
7. A Unique veil
These days anything goes and you can create a wedding veil out of flower petals or feathers and one thing is for sure, it’ll certainly be unique and no doubt, absolutely stunning! Perfect for the brave at heart or those who want to stand out from the crowd.
8. The Tulle Bubble Veil
Probably my most favourite veil of all time, this veil works perfectly with an intricate and detailed wedding dress, especially if the details are at the back of the dress. The veil gathers at the back of the head and will show off your wedding dress the way you want it to. There’s no denying this veil looks amazing and will certainly add another dimension to your chosen dress.
9. The Layered Veil
The layered veil gives another dimension to the veil itself. It makes for perfect photos as you walk down the aisle and looks perfect matched with a traditional wedding dress.
10. The Lace Edge Veil
This veil would work well with any style of dress but matched with a traditional wedding gown, it is the perfect wedding accessory. We simply love this elegant look.
13. The ‘Something Borrowed’ Veil
We love the idea of incorporating your ‘something borrowed’ into your wedding veil, whether is a hair clip, brooch or faux flower. Incorporating it into your hair and draping over a veil for safe keeping is the perfect way to make a statement. Perfect with an open back or sleeveless wedding dress as it will really bring the attention to the headpeice itself.
14. The Bow Veil
This veil complete with a bow would work really well with a short 50s themed vintage dress. It would really finish off the look perfectly and would make for perfect photo opportunities.
So there you have it, a huge range of unique wedding veils with varying styles, lengths and themes for you to choose from. Most wedding veils are made from bridal illusion or glimmer illusion so why not have your veil made from an alternative fabric like chiffon, organza, English net or silk tulle to instantly create a unique look for your wedding.
