A Gold Inspired Wedding

With the Rio Olympics having only just drawn to an end and Great Britain having brought home a grand total of 65 medals with 29 of those being Gold, we’ve been totally inspired to bring you a wedding theme that’s brimming with gold.  Now let’s start with the most important part of a brides attire … The dress.  Tradition states that a white wedding dress should be worn as it symbolises virginity and purity however nowadays, anything goes and a common trend has been to choose a blush pink wedding dress because it’s a bit different and will make you stand out from the crowd. Why not take the new trend a step further and choose a wedding dress that is dripping in gold, this is a sure fire way to feel like a million bucks! Now, if a gold wedding dress is a bit too daring for you then why not incorporate gold into your wedding make up instead. We absolutely love this look and it really brings a touch of elegance to that overall look.

If you choose to incorporate gold into your wedding make up, then why not stick with the theme and opt for gold bridesmaid dresses that will really compliment you and will make for gorgeous wedding photos.

Now for the bridal bouquet … You may struggle to get a gold coloured flower although these days, nothing is impossible, however we absolutely love the idea of wrapping gold twine around the stems of the bouquet to hold it all in place. It’s so subtle and yet it makes such a huge impact, adding a touch of sophistication and class.

Now for the wedding cake. Did you know that there is such a thing as edible glitter? Here at Fund Your Wedding, we love the stuff. It’s an easy way to make anything look super sexy and your guests will demolish this cake in no time!

Now, all you need to complete your wedding attire is a pair of killer heels and why not keep within that golden theme? These are guaranteed to finish off the look perfectly. Fund Your Wedding’s top tip would be to wear them prior to your big day to break them in, that way, you won’t be in pain on the most important day of your life, we wouldn’t want that now, would we?

Now for the wedding favours and you won’t want to waste your time and money on something your guests are likely to leave behind. Instead provide something sweet and edible and your guests will love you for it.

Now for the finishing touches that make a wedding that extra bit special. You can obtain old wine bottles, jars and lanterns from almost anywhere so why not purchase a can of gold spray and cover numerous items to create this gorgeous golden effect.

Whether you chose love letters that are white or gold, it doesn’t matter because it’s the backdrop that does this photo justice. These fairy lights instantly create a golden glow that will set the tone for an amazing atmospheric wedding.

There are hundreds of other ways you can add a touch of sparkle to your event. From providing drinking glasses that have been dipped in glitter, to adding gold coloured tablecloths to each of your tables or wearing gold nail varnish and having gold balloons arranged beautifully to frame the aisle, the choice is up to you. One thing is for certain, this golden theme is a sure way to add a touch of elegance, class and sophistication to your big day!
