Your wedding day is such an important time and you should be able to invite all of your loved ones to celebrate your big day with you. The reality is though, catering for everyone can become costly and a lot of people have no option but to cut the guest list. Here at Fund Your Wedding, we’re all about keeping costs down so we’ve compiled a list of alternative wedding food to help you slash the cost of your overall wedding bill.
. BBQ / Hog Roast
Not only is a BBQ or Hog Roast fun and exciting, the food generally goes a lot further making it a lot cheaper per head. On top of this, it’s quite a casual form of catering so your guests can feel relaxed and comfortable and because you have to go up for your food, it gets your guests interacting with eachother which in turn will create a lovely atmosphere. 2. Street Food
There are loads of unique street caterers if you’re after something cheaper but also a little bit different. The list really is endless, you can have anything from fish and chip vans, to woodfired pizza ovens to greek and cypriot cuisine.
3. Paella Pan
If you’re after something truly unique, why not hire a paella company. The paella is made right in front of you and your guests, allowing you to soak up all the delicious aromas. Again, food like this goes a lot further and is generally a lot cheaper per head.
If you’re having a summer wedding, hosting a picnic is a great way to save money! You could make up little hampers yourself or have someone else do it for you. Either way, picnics can be very inexpensive and the food really does go a lot further.
5. Afternoon Tea
Or if you want something a bit more formal, you could offer your guests afternoon tea which is still a lot cheaper than a 3 course sit down meal. You could even have an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding and throw a real tea party for all your guests complete with sandwiches, scones, cakes and of course, a nice cup of tea!
